WEST SUMBAWA, KOMPAS.com – PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (PTNNT) paid Rp7.405 trillion in 2011 for all financial obligations to the Government of Indonesia (GOI), including taxes, non-taxes, and royalties as defined by the Contract of Work.

“PTNNT always fulfills its financial obligations to the government in a timely manner and complies with all tax regulations. Since 2003, the company has continuously got a compliant tax payer status from the government,” said Martiono Hadianto, President Director of PTNNT.

The largest payment includes Corporate Income Tax in the amount of Rp6.179 trillion, followed by Other Income Tax of Rp270.9 billion, Dividend Tax of Rp217.5 billion and Personal Income Tax of Rp224.2 billion. Meanwhile, payment of production royalties reached Rp168.4 billion

According to Martiono, the amount of tax payment in 2011 was higher than 2010’s payment of Rp5.967 trillion. The increase was a result of additional payment for Corporate Income Tax of 2010 which was paid in 2011 during SPT payment. From1999 to 2011, PTNNT paid taxes, non- taxes, royalties, purchase of goods and services from local and national businesses, and community development programs a total of Rp60.677 trillion to the state.

In addition to providing direct benefits to the government, PTNNT provides economic benefits in the form of salary payment for 4000 PTNNT employees and 3000 contractor employees, purchase of goods and services from local and national businesses, and community development programs.
