JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Senior Golkar politician Burhanuddin Napitupulu (70) passed away at 4.30 pm for heart failure after playing golf here on Sunday. The body of Napitupulu is laid in state at Pertamina hospital before he was taken to his house of mourning on Jalan Simprug Golf VIII-BZ-3 in South Jakarta.
Those paying last respect to the late Golkar politician included former vice president Jusuf Kalla and his wife, Golkar secretary general Idrus Marham and West Sulawesi Governor Anwar Adnan Saleh.
"He played golf with me this afternoon before he suddenly collapsed and died following a heart attack," Idrus Marham said. Marhum said that the Napitupulu would be buried in North Sumatra. "He will be flown to Medan on Monday morning," he said.
