JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) firmly states the faults of former Bank Indonesia governor, Boediono, and former Committee for Financial Sector Stability chief, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, regarding the Century Bank bailout.
Isn't PKS worried about the threat of cabinet reshuffling mentioned by the Democratic Party? PKS central board chairman, who is also the deputy chief of the inquiry committee on Century Bank's case, Mahfudz Siddiq, stated that his party's conclusion is based on the facts from the inquiry. Anyhow, he stated that what PKS is doing isn't against the coalition contract.
"The coalition parties in the House has each found its own indications. Thus, the coalition means sitting together, deciding what to do with these legal and political facts. It shouldn't be cut half-way. In the political contract there's no mention of reshuffling because of differences of opinions," stated Mahfudz, Tuesday, at the House of Rep. building, Jakarta.
All the facts revealed by the inquiry committee's examinations, according to him, can't be kept secret. The coalition party, he stressed, can't be pressured or forced to hide the legal facts that have been revealed. "If forced to cover up legal facts, that's more dear than just the cabinet."
