
Bandar Lampung, KOMPAS.com - A moderate earthquake measuring 5,2 on the Richter scale jolted Ambon, Maluku province, at 3.25 a.m west Indonesia time (WIB) on Friday. The temblor had its epicenter at 5.87 degrees southern longitude and 127.77 eastern latitude, 252 kilometers southwest of Ambon, Maluku province, at a depth of 414 kilometers, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said.
The epicenter of the earthquake which had no potential to trigger a tsunami, lies 386 km northeast of Dili (Timor Leste), 458 km northwest of Saumlaki (Maluku province), 467 km southeast of Sanana (Maluku province) and 552 km southwest of Tual (Maluku province).
