BANDA ACEH, KOMPAS.com  - Shooting at foreigners happened again in Aceh. The house occupied by two foreign professors in Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah), Monday morning, was shot at by unidentified persons.

Great Comm. Bambang Soetjahyo, Intelligence Director of the Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) police, at the scene of the crime, said that the shooting occurred around 5.45 AM. "But it was just reported around 10 or 10.30 AM," he said.

The house is at Meulu street number D-17, the residential complex of Unsyiah teaching staff. It is occupied by two foreign language professors teaching at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Education of Unsyiah.

The two inhabitants, Michelle A. and Sarah Willis, are alive and well. Currently a group of police from the Banda Aceh metro police and the NAD provincial police are still inspecting the scene of the crime.

The police have found at least two projectiles and four bullet-holes suspected to be caused by the shooting by unidentified persons. This is the third shooting incidents at foreigners in Aceh in the last month.

So far, the police confess of having difficulties identifying the perpetrators. "They were trained and they were proficient with fire-arms," said the head of PR of the NAD, Great Comm. A. Soleh. (Mahdi Muhammad/C17-09)
