
MAMUJU, KOMPAS.com - Mamuju regency in West Sulawesi Province is ready for 400 transmigrant families from other parts of the country who will enter Mamuju next year. This was stated by head of the Mamuju regency manpower and transmigration agency Wahab Abdi here Thursday.
He said he has made a proposition to the central government on the readiness of Mamuju regency to give accommodation to transmigrants from other parts of the country next year, although a green light was still awaited from the central government. According to him, Mamuju still has the potential to accept transmigrants.
He said his office has prepared two regional transmigration units, namely Kabuloang village for 300 families, and Sinyonyoi village in Kalukku subdistrict for 100 families. The land prepared for the transmigrants covered 800 hectares, and each of the transmigrant families will receive two hectares. He also said that the cost prepared for the transmigrants amounted to Rp 8 billion from the State Budget.
