JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Commission III of the People's Consultative Council (DPR), Wednesday, holds a public hearing with the three law enforcing institutions in conflict: the National Police (Polri), the Attorney General's Office (AGO), and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

According to the Commission III member from the PDI-P fraction, Gayus Lumbuun, this gathering will focus on the effort of institutional reform and law enforcement performance in the future. "We must focus to repair the system to eradicate corruption in the future so that no corruptor will escape," said Gayus to Kompas.com.

This zeal is also stated in Team-8's recommendation yesterday, he said. According to Gayus, the first step for the three institutions is to improve corruption eradication in the future is to rebuild their partnership after their conflict which is still widely covered by the media.

For example, Gayus reminded how the Law of the Anti Corruption Court could possibly work if the KPK didn't have partnership with the police and AGO. The same goes with correctional institutions.

The government has an important role there. "Meanwhile, the recommendation of Team-8 regarding the Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M. Hamzah case won't be the focus of the commission," continued Gayus. (Caroline Damanik/C17-09)
