JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesian Police Watch (IPW) pities the investigation of former South Jakarta Police Chief Sr. Comr. Wiliardi Wizar by the National Police, subsequent to his testimony for the murder trial of Nasrudin Zulkarnaen in South Jakarta State Court yesterday.
The investigation on Wiliardi, an officer accused as one of the actors in the premeditated murder of the director of PT Putra Rajawali Banjaran, is a form of arrogance from the National Police, considering that Wiliardi is actually still a prisoner under the authority of the Attorney General's Office.
"The investigation is seen as an intervention against court freedom and independence," said IPW Chairman Neta S. Pane in his short message to Kompas.com, Thursday morning.
As reported, after his testimony Wiliardi was inspected by National Police Internal Affairs Division (Propam) and the National Police HQ Investigator regarding the same testimony. Wiliardi's wife, Nova, was also inspected regarding her statements to the press after the trial.
"Mr. Wiliardi and Mrs. Nova were inspected by four investigators and the Propam for six hours," said Wiliardi's legal representative, Apollo Djara Bonga yesterday.
Apollo explained, during the clarification, Wiliardi and Nova described how the framing process happened along with intimidations they suffered in the inspection. According to him, Nova was with Wiliardi at all times through the intimidations and when Wiliardi was persuaded to match his dossier (BAP) with Sigid's to implicate Antasari. "Mrs. Nova heard and saw everything first hand," he said. (GLO/C17-09)
