KOMPAS.com - Indonesia began Monday to ship the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from the Tangguh Field, Papua to Gwangyang port, South Korea. The LNG was delivered to South Korea aboard the Tangguh Foja cargo ship.
"The first LNG delivery from the Tangguh field will strengthen the position of Indonesia as one of the world's main LNG producers," chairman of upstream oil and gas regulator BP Migas, R. Priyono, said in a press statement.
"It will increase the state revenue too." The Tangguh LNG project is deemed successful as it could absorb more than 10,000 workers and finish on schedule. The investment in the LNG project is estimated to reach US$5 billion.
