KOMPAS.com - Presidential hopeful Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his running mate Boediono on Friday officially declared themselves as one of the pairs contesting in the July presidential election, Antara state news agency has reported.
During a declaration event at Sasana Budaya Ganesha building in Bandung, Yudhoyono read out his political speech and introduced Boediono as his partner during the upcoming election. As many as 22 political parties, including the National Awakening Party (PKB), the United Development Party (PPP), the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), attended the occasion.
According to tempointeraktif.com, some representatives from the parties are set to read out their supported statements for the pair. The Democratic Party (PD)'s official Ruhut Sitompul said that the parties would sign a political contract as soon as the pair finished declaring their candidacy. (ewd)
